One Direction surprise Pride of Britain winner Danielle Bailey at school assembly

Danielle Bailey looks stunned as One Direction pop into her school yesterday to tell her she’s a Pride of Britain winner. The 13-year-old was in morning assembly when the boyband jumped out from behind a stage curtain.

As pupils began screaming, chart-toppers Liam, Zayn, Harry, Louis and Niall made their way to Danielle to let her know she had won the Child of Courage award.

She said: “I couldn’t believe it when they came over to me. I love all them all. My mates were so jealous!”

The band’s surprise visit will be shown during the Pride of Britain Awards next week when she will honoured after overcoming the loss of all four limbs to become a gold-medal winning swimmer. Danielle had to have her legs and hands amputated after she was struck down with meningitis aged four.

She took up swimming only a year ago but is already a national amateur gold medallist. She is now waiting to find out if she has been accepted on to the British Disability World Class Talent Programme, which could set her on the path to Paralympic glory.

Danielle will be one of our unsung heroes at the Pride of Britain awards sponsored by Littlewoods.com next Wednesday on ITV1 from 8pm.

tonnes of people are getting man at brittish one direction fans about the 1DTour we do deserve the tour as much as anyone else does yes we live in the same part of the world as them but its still hard to get tickes and it still hard to meet them it so hard and just because we live where they do donent make anyone less needy or worthy of a ticket, people shouldnt hate others for living closer to One Direction as others they will be doing a world tour and if it dont come to you the tought they just dont i know for fact there are people in your home place that done come touring in england and do we hate NO!! because whats the point so stop the hate and be happy for those who get this oppitiunity and we will be happy when your time comes

i burst into tears today when i was told there was no wristband left for onedirection

i had been there since 4 and i didnt get one

WHSmither gave them to people who camped there, They were camping INSIDE the SHOPPING CENTER from 10:30pm Friday Night and they were all GIVEN wristbands and i was there from 4:00am this morning, WHSmith said NOTHING about this on the webside, I tryed so hard to get a ticket i tried all i could, I tried Paying the bouncers and i even tried running past them after they told me to go the other way i broke the rule and did ALL anyone could and i still didnt get to see them :’( i was crying so much

i was so upset :’( This was the one thing i wanted and i couldnt even get that xx
